Sign in with your Google account and go to Google Sheets to create a new spreadsheet.

Copy the full URL from the browser address bar. The highlighted yellow part in the example below is the spreadsheet ID.

Paste the full URL in the input field and the ID will be extracted automatically!

Click the "Share" button in the top right corner and configure the following:

Sign in to Google Cloud Console with your Google account.

Click the project selector dropdown at the top and select "New Project".

Enable the API in the following order:

1. Click "APIs & Services" → "Library" in the left menu
2. Search for "Google Sheets API"
3. Click "Enable" button to activate the API

Create an API key:

1. Click "APIs & Services" → "Credentials" in the left menu
2. Select "+ Create Credentials" → "API Key" at the top
3. Copy the generated API key

Paste the copied API key into the "API Key" field on this page.

Never share your API key! It can be misused.

Access the Service Account management page in Google Cloud Console.

1. Click "+ Create Service Account"
2. Enter service account name and click "Create"
3. Manage keys → Create new key → Select JSON format → Download

Open the downloaded JSON file with Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into the "Service Account JSON" field.

Add the service account email as "Editor" in the spreadsheet sharing settings. The service account email is the "client_email" value in the JSON file.
